Nicaraguan Handcrafted Petite Vase
This beautifully handcrafted vase fuses contemporary design with traditional methods of craftsmanship to create the perfect accent for any home. It is made of ceramic - painted and fired - then etched to achieve its unique appearance. It was made by Fanor Lopez Hernandez in San Juan de Oriente - Nicaragua - which has a cooperative of artisans skilled in pottery-making. Mr. Hernandez learned the art of ceramics by watching his friend form jaguars from the earth - then paint and fire them using special techniques. He later taught his wife and now both have developed a repertoire of styles including pre-Columbian - free style - and contemporary designs. This vase measures 4.5? in width by 4.5? in height.
